Lost Paradise - Final Step by NatMonney Lost Paradise - Final Step by NatMonney
I did a previous concept design of this piece here : [link]

Here we are, my last work! Sorry for delay, and I know, it was long time since the last one.. I'll try to put more of my stuff asap!

I worked a lot and it's now ready to be animated with some camera mapping and some particles animations to add some layers of fog, lightning effect and some other cool features, maybe even a 3d 1st plan made with the awesome software Vue!

Hope you like it, and thanks a lot for watching, and maybe even sharing!

Technical stuff :

Software used : Photoshop CS5, Vue, Maya.
Time : About 50 hours.
Full work is in 4k. If some are interested in it for some reasons, please note me.
Please do not use or modify.

This is a very wonderful piece of artwork! You have managed to get in so much detail, even into the smallest things like brickwork and stairs and it just makes the piece even more interesting to look at.
The vision you have painted, even though it's simple, is very eye-catching as it's not at all something you see everyday. They way you have painted in a vast amount of forest and buildings also give the viewer more to look at, compared to if you had just painted a small section.
I wouldn't call it the most original idea ever, because I have seen ruins done in artwork before, but the way you have portrayed them is something I haven't ever seen before.
The way you have done the piece, with painting the ruins in the background through all the mist and fog shows that you wanted to make your artwork the best it could possibly be as you haven't just stopped and decided to cover up the distance, you've continued on to the very furthest you could.
Because the colours are very subtle and don't stand out too much, I feel that the impact isn't as perfect as it could be, but the brightness of the sky compared to the rest of the piece does add in some colour into the piece.
Overall, I think you have done a very beautiful piece of artwork and I hope to see more of your artwork in the future! Well done!

Wow this is really well done, I am amazed at the details of the architecture.
You did a fine job with the overall contrast of the image, which is really hard to make pop out especially with such similar tones.
So good job there. I think the fog adds to the drama of the scene - I absolutely love it!

One thing I would suggest doing is to add maybe some warmth with some sun rays? Or a tint of warm color in the clouds above would enhance the vision of the image. Though naturally that would lead to a representation of hope - which you may not want to display in this Lost Paradise.

Otherwise wonderful job!! :)

(omg wish i could make this)

i wander, did you make the buildings in maya?
because it looks like it drawn, and if its a 3D model, how did you got that digital drawing look?

can you shortly explain how you did this, i want to try it :)

Sorry for the late answer!
Well, I had some very basic shapes and lightning done in maya, but that's all, the render was only to set up a bit this (with the perspective as well).
After, I just spent so much time into drawing and incrusting textures and photos you know.

Hope it helps a bit :)

Looking down from ethereal skies.
Solid crystalline tears I cry.
For all must say their last goodbye.
To Paradise...
